U.S Hails Nigerian Surgeon Who Removed Baby From Womb, Operated & Returned Her Back

U.S, Nigerian Doctor, oluyinka olutoye, surgical feat.

A Nigerian pediatric surgeon, Professor Oluyinka Olutoye, is making the headlines in the United States and around the world for his success after performing a rare surgical operation.

Professor Olutoye, alongside his surgeon partner carried out the delicate surgery on a 23 weeks old foetus who was removed from the mother’s womb, operated upon and returned to the womb to heal and continue to grow until the baby girl was born at 36 weeks.

The baby suffered from a tumor known as ‘sacrococcygeal teratoma’, a tumor that develops before birth and grows from a baby’s coccyx, the tailbone.

Research says it is found more often in girls than boys, and occurs in one out of every 35,000 births.

Doctor Olutoye received his medical degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state south west Nigeria and his Ph.D. in anatomy from Virginia Commonwealth University In Richmond, Virginia in the United States.

He shared his experience from this rare surgical feat and suggestions on how Nigeria can harness the talents that abound in the country’s medical space.

Donald Trump: There Will Be Wolrd War III If You Elect Hillary Clinton

CNN)-
Donald Trump warned in an interview Tuesday that Hillary Clinton's policies as president to address the Syrian conflict would lead to World War III, arguing the Democratic nominee would draw the US into armed confrontation with Russia, Syria and Iran.

"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria," Trump told Reuters on Tuesday morning at his resort in Doral, Florida. "You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton."

The Republican nominee, who has called for a rapprochement with Russia in order to jointly combat ISIS, argued that his Democratic rival's calls for taking a more aggressive posture in Syria to bring the conflict there to an end and combat ISIS will only draw the US into a larger war. Trump's remarks come as he trails Clinton in most national and key battleground state polls just two weeks from Election Day.

"You're not fighting Syria anymore, you're fighting Syria, Russia and Iran, all right? Russia is a nuclear country, but a country where the nukes work as opposed to other countries that talk," he said.

Trump: I'd 'love' to fight Biden

Trump has not laid out a clear strategy for combating ISIS or addressing the globally destabilizing conflict in Syria, which has killed hundreds of thousands and pushed millions more to flee their homes. He has suggested the US should allow ISIS, anti-government rebels and the Syrian government to fight it out and more recently has focused on joining forces with Russia -- which has aided the Syrian regime in the bombing of civilians and US-allied rebels -- to combat ISIS.

"Assad is secondary, to me, to ISIS," Trump told Reuters of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whom US officials have argued must step down.

Clinton has called for establishing a no-fly zone over Syria to help bring the five-year civil war to an end, a proposal top Republicans in Congress have championed, which President Barack Obama and others have opposed due to the risk of entering into conflict with Russia. A US-enforced no-fly zone would mean the US could shoot down a Russian jet should it enter Syrian airspace.

Clinton addressed those concerns in the final presidential debate, arguing that it would "save lives and hasten the end of the conflict," while cautioning that "this would not be done just on the first day."

"This would take a lot of negotiation and it would also take making it clear to the Russians and the Syrians that our purpose is to provide safe zones on the ground," Clinton said during the debate earlier this month. "I think we could strike a deal and make it very clear to the Russians and Syrians that this was something that we believe the best interests of the people on the ground in Syria. It would help us in the fight against ISIS."

Trump has additionally called for establishing safe zones in Syria to protect civilians -- as has Clinton -- which could also put the US in conflict with the Syrian government or Russia should they oppose the policy.

The Clinton campaign later Tuesday pushed back against Trump's rhetoric.

"National security experts on both sides of the aisle have denounced Donald Trump as dangerously ill-prepared and temperamentally unfit to serve as commander-in-chief," Clinton spokesman Jesse Lehrich said. "Once again, he is parroting Putin's talking points and playing to Americans' fears, all while refusing to lay out any plans of his own for defeating ISIS or alleviating humanitarian suffering in Syria. Moreover, this incendiary attack is aimed at a policy that his own running mate, Mike Pence, strongly supports."

While Clinton has accused Trump of being Putin's "puppet," Trump knocked Clinton for her criticism of the Russian strongman, asking, "How she is going to go back and negotiate with this man who she has made to be so evil."

And just two days after he tied the successful enactment of his agenda as president to the election of Republican majorities in Congress, Trump also returned to his more typical complaints of a lack of Republican unity weighing down his candidacy.

"If we had party unity, we couldn't lose this election to Hillary Clinton," he told Reuters.

That complaint didn't put Trump in more of a bipartisan mood, though, as the Republican nominee also told Reuters he would not consider putting any Democrats in his cabinet -- a departure from recent presidents, who have sought to post at least one member of their rival party in a top administration post.

Obama To Meet With Buhari At The UN General Assembly

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama will review military strategy against the Islamic State group, press nations to admit more refugees and review progress around the world, despite new challenges, when he makes his final appearance at the U.N. General Assembly session in New York next week, the White House said Friday.

On the sidelines of the session, Obama has scheduled meetings with the leaders of Iraq, Nigeria and Colombia and plans to promote trade between the U.S. and Africa.

Obama heads to New York on Sunday for the General Assembly session that opens Monday, his eighth and final as president.

He plans to sit down Monday with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to discuss progress the country has made countering the Islamic State group, a coming Iraqi military operation to take back the city of Mosul from IS militants, and a brewing humanitarian crisis inside Iraq, said Ben Rhodes, Obama's deputy national security adviser.

Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this week while visiting Baghdad that Iraqi forces aided by the U.S.-led coalition against IS had retaken half the territory that militants once held in the country. He also announced more than $181 million in aid to address a humanitarian crisis that has festered in Iraq as a result of the insurgency.

Despite a series of major defeats in recent months, IS has maintained its grip on Mosul, Iraq's second largest city. Iraq hopes to launch an operation this year to retake Mosul.

Obama delivers his final address to the yearly gathering of world leaders on Tuesday, and will use the opportunity to "step back" and review some of the progress over the past eight years along with "some of the trends that have been shaping our international order," said Rhodes, previewing the trip for reporters.

The Syrian conflict continues to confound world leaders, although a recent cease-fire agreement appears to be holding, but Syria has not yet allowed humanitarian aid to flow to the city of Aleppo and other affected areas. Meanwhile, North Korea continues to defy the international community with its recent nuclear and ballistic missile tests.

Obama also plans to meet Tuesday with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who has held office for just over a year, to talk about continued U.S. support for security and economic changes in the country, as well the government's efforts to counter the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram.

At a summit on refugees that the president is hosting, Obama is expected to press more nations to open their borders and help double the number of refugees who are resettled around the world. Mexico, Sweden, Canada, Germany, Jordan and Ethiopia are co-hosting the summit along with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Europe has shouldered a large portion of the Syrian refugee crisis. Canada welcomed 25,000 Syrian refugees, and the U.S. recently met its goal of resettling 10,000 Syrian refugees this year.

Obama will devote a portion of Wednesday, the final day of the General Assembly session, to promoting trade between the U.S. and Africa. He was attending a summit with some 200 American and African CEOs, and African heads of state.

The president also plans to meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, mainly to discuss a historic peace agreement recently struck between Santos' government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia rebel group to end 52 years of hostilities, the Western Hemisphere's longest-running war.

The U.S. supported the peace effort, and the people of Colombia will vote on it a nationwide referendum in early October.

On Sunday evening in New York, Obama was headlining a Democratic Party fundraiser.

Buhari To Demand Recovery Of Looted Funds At UN Assembly

Adelani Adepegba, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari will next week lead the Federal Government delegation to New York, the United States, where he will address the 71st regular session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 21, 2016.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, who stated this on Friday in Abuja, explained that the President would use the opportunity to build on his relationship with other world leaders and demand the recovery of looted funds stashed away in foreign countries.

According to him, the Federal Government will canvass the election of an Afro-centric UN Secretary-General, who will be pro-developing countries.

He stated that Buhari would also push for the candidature of Nigerians into various international agencies which he said had influence on UN policy and programmes globally.

Onyeama said it was absolutely important that Nigeria engaged in multilateral relations, noting that it had candidates for positions in International Civil Aviation Authority and the United Nations Human Rights Council.

He said the President would also engage the world leaders and seek their support in the areas of security, anti-corruption, governance and the economy where Nigeria is currently facing challenges.

The minister said, “It is an opportunity for the President to push for the reform of the UN, a UN that is more inclusive of more countries. It is another opportunity to engage world leaders and push for recovery of illicit and looted funds, address poverty, refugee issues and irregular migrants; this is an issue that is affecting our relationship with European countries.” Buhari, the minister added, would also sign the Paris Agreement on Climate Change which the United States and China, had earlier signed.

Onyeama added that during the trip, the President would also lead his delegation to the US-Africa Business Forum, where Nigeria would be the focus.

He said, “There will also be a high-level meeting on the humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad region, the President is keen on addressing the problem of the Lake Chad which would cost $15bn and we would need to mobilize funding for the project.”

Buhari To Travel To New York On Tuesday For 71st UN General Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 71st UN General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled to begin at the UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday, Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama, has said.

Mr. Onyeama, who made the fact known in Abuja on Friday at a news conference, said the president would be discussing series of issues which had direct impact on Nigeria.

He said the president would, among others, set the record straight on the issue of human rights violation and sign the Paris Agreement on Climate.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that at the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) held in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal.
The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to 2°C.

The agreement is due to enter into force in 2020.
Mr. Onyeama said the president signing the agreement would send a signal to the world that Nigeria was serious with it. He noted that China and the U.S. had already signed it.

He said the UNGA conference was a unique one where the Nigerian leader had opportunity to meet world leaders and build on the country’s reputation.
“It is one unique conference where world leaders assemble and address issues pre-occupying their minds; it is a wonderful opportunity for the president to build on his reputation.

“President Buhari is well regarded by the world leaders and it will give him opportunity to reconnect and engage them on various issues.
“He needs world leaders’ support in the areas of economy, security, anti-corruption and governance. He will use the opportunity to push for Nigeria’s interest at the UN,” the minister said.

He said the president would also use the opportunity to look for foreign markets for Nigerian’s products and garner support for the economy.

Mr. Onyeama said that the president would also use the opportunity to canvass for the repatriation of Nigeria’s stolen money in foreign banks.

“Mr. President will use the opportunity to canvass for support for the recharge of Lake Chad.
“There will be a discussion on Lake Chad Basin and how to recharge the lake through Central Africa which will cost about $15 billion.

“Mr President will engage and push for investors on the project. He will be looking at Public, Private Partnership to mobilise that kind of funding for Lake Chad.

“Such investment will have direct impact on at least five million people,” he said.
According to Mr. Onyeama, there will also be a discussion on one vision, one Africa where all African nations can have a voice on issues that have direct impact on the continent.

He said the EU would be putting €31 billion on the table to address certain issues affecting Middle East and part of Africa.

He said Nigeria was the only one invited for the meeting to look into how to spend the money, adding that the forum would give Nigeria opportunity to access the fund.

See How A US Based Nigerian Reacted To The Postponement Of Edo Elections

Amb Dion Osagie, a Nigerian entrepreneur and humanitarian activist who is based in the United States has reacted to the postponement of the governorship elections in Edo state. The Independent National Electoral Commission agreed to shift the Edo State governorship election by two weeks. The election had earlier been scheduled for Saturday September 10, 2016.

The Edo state indigene (Amb Dion Osagie) who has always lambasted politicians for their policies -took to his Facebook page to post the below;

I decided to eat ISIEWU and cold Heineken for lunch when I heard Edo election has been postponed base on matter on ground. I think this will be an advantage to the PDP! I have said it before and over and over again. They don't really care about us!!

Let me finish my Isiewu before they postpone it. Like they postpone Edo election without considering people who have already made plans to come home to vote.

It is a shame that INEC Nigeria can not do the needful with all the time had for planning. What a shameless leaders and citizens who continue to let them have their way. Letting them treat us the way they want. Let's stop being a fool because power belong to the people.

Son Of Nigerian Immigrants Fulfills Dream Of Flying In The US

Son Of Nigerian Immigrants Fulfills Dream Of Flying

TEMECULA, CALIF. —
Anthony Oshinuga, the son of Nigerian immigrants, arrives early most days at a California airport to check his vintage Cessna aircraft, ready to shuttle passengers over Temecula Valley, the booming wine country north of San Diego. Later, he'll fly loops and rolls in his Pitts Special, an aerobatic aircraft, as he lives his childhood dream of being an aviator.

“It's the fact that you're free in the three dimensions, up down, left, right – yawing left and right – so you're pretty much free. You can do anything you want to do,” he said, “and you can't get that freedom walking on the planet.”

His parents left Lagos, Nigeria, and moved to Austin, Texas, in 1980. Oshinuga was born the following year.

He set his sights on flying at the age of 5, when visiting an airport. “I was taken by what was going on,” he recalls. “I told my father, that's exactly what I want to do.”

With his small tour company called Air Oshinuga, he flies over the wine country of Temecula in his second aircraft, a 1940s-era Cessna buffed and polished so it looks brand new. He has partnered with two of the many wineries in this valley, the largest wine-producing region in southern California.

“We provide clients with 30-minute aerial scenic flights over Temecula, and then we land and they go down there and do wine tasting,” he explained.

Oshinuga started training as a pilot eight years ago and earned his commercial flying license in 2013. He first entered national flying competitions in 2014.

“That's when I went to the US National Aerobatic Championships (in Denison, Texas), and placed fourth out of 25 competitors,” he recalls. “Since then, things have been really blossoming in the arena of aerobatics and air shows and air racing.”

In 2015, he flew as a rookie in the Reno National Championship Air Race in Nevada, placing second in the biplane category.

Oshinuga studied engineering at the University of California, Riverside, and says that engineering helps to pay the bills, but his passion is aviation, and he plans to stay aloft as long as he can.

US Congressman Writes Kerry, Accuses Buhari Of Autocratic Tendencies

US Congressman Writes Kerry, Accuses Buhari of Autocratic Tendencies, Selective Anti-Graft War

*Wants security assistance to Nigeria withheld

A member of the United States Congress, Tom Marino, has written a letter to Secretary of State, John Kerry, asking the US government to withhold security assistance to Nigeria until President Muhammadu Buhari demonstrates a “commitment to inclusive government and the most basic tenets of democracy: freedom to assemble and freedom of speech”.

He also asked the State Department to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to Nigeria until President Buhari establishes a track record of working towards inclusion.

In a two-page letter dated September 1, 2016 and addressed to Kerry, a copy of which was exclusively obtained by THISDAY yesterday, Marino, a Republican from Pennsylvania who assumed office on January 3, 2011, said there were a number of warning signs emerging in the Buhari administration that signal “the man who once led Nigeria as a military dictator might be sliding towards former autocratic tendencies”.

The Congressman, who is a member of the Committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs, and the Chairman, Sub-committee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law, said Nigerian government must “hold accountable those members of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in extra-judicial killings and war crimes”.

In the six-paragraph letter to Kerry, Marino also expressed concern over Nigeria’s anti-corruption war, saying “of additional concern is President Buhari’s selective anti-corruption drive, which has focused almost exclusively on members of the opposition party, over-looking corruption amongst some of Buhari’s closest advisors. Politicizing his anti-corruption efforts has only reinforced hostility among southerners”.

His letter to Kerry reads: “Dear Secretary Kerry, I am encouraged by the personal interest you have taken in aiding Nigeria and its administration as it takes on endemic corruption, multiple insurgent movements, and a faltering economy. However, I believe there are a number of warning signs emerging in the Buhari administration that signal “the man who once led Nigeria as a military dictator might be sliding towards former autocratic tendencies.”

“I would urge the U.S. to withhold its security assistance to the nation until President Buhari demonstrates a commitment to inclusive government and the most basic tenets of democracy: freedom to assemble and freedom of speech. A logical start towards this commitment is for the Nigerian government to hold accountable those members of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in extra-judicial killings and war crimes”.

“Human rights groups like Amnesty International have widely documented torture, inhumane treatment, and extra-judicial killings of defenseless Nigerians since President Buhari took office.”

Quoting Amnesty International Report, he wrote, “in the last six months, Nigeria’s military has unlawfully killed at least 350 people and allowed more than 168 people, including babies and children, to die in military detention.”

He further wrote: “The Secretary to the Government of Kaduna State even admitted to burying 347 of those killed in a mass grave. And while President Buhari promised swift condemnation, his words rang empty. Instead of swift reforms, Buhari chose to reinstate Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, who Amnesty International revealed was in charge of the Nigerian military unit that executed more than 640 unarmed, former detainees.

“Also, in separate incidents concerning the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Nigerian Army has killed at least 36 – the real number is likely higher – people since December 2015 in an attempt to silence opposition and quell attempts by the group to gather publicly.”

Describing President Buhari as a former military dictator whose reign (as military head of state) was cut short by a coup, he stated that the President has continually shunned inclusivity in favour of surrounding himself with advisors and ministers from the north of the country and the region he considers home.

“Of President Buhari’s 122 appointees, 77 are from the north and control many of the key ministries and positions of power. Distrust is already high in Nigeria and favouring Northerners for key appointments has only antagonized the issue. These appointments are also primarily Muslim in the north and Christian in the south, adding a religious aspect to long-held regional biases.

“Of additional concern is President Buhari’s selective anti-corruption drive, which has focused almost exclusively on members of the opposition party, over-looking corruption amongst some of Buhari’s closest advisors. Politicizing his anti-corruption efforts has only reinforced hostility among southerners,” he claimed in the letter.

He said the Obama Administration would advance justice by urging the Buhari Administration to act decisively to hold accountable members of the police and military.

The congressman said, “This is a logical first step in making a demonstrable, sustained commitment to inclusive democracy, with distributed power in Nigeria. Until President Buhari establishes a track record of working towards inclusion, we ask the State Department to refrain from selling warplanes and other military equipment to the country.

“The State Department should urge President Buhari to form a government that represents the diversity of its citizens and allows dissenting voices to be heard. Democracy can thrive only if people are free to assemble, to express their beliefs, and voice their concerns.”

A 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hit Italy Today

At least eight people were killed Wednesday after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck central Italy, according to local news reports.

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck central Italy, leaving at least six people dead and others trapped under rubble, Italian officials said.
The quake hit at 03:36 (01:36 GMT), 76 km (47 miles) southeast of the city of Perugia, at the very shallow depth of 10km (six miles), the USGS said.
The Mayor of Amatrice told Italian radio "half the town is gone".
In Rome, some buildings shook for 20 seconds, according to La Repubblica newspaper.
A family of four had been found under rubble in the town of Accumoli, the town's mayor Stefano Petrucci told RAI TV.
Meanwhile police said two people had died in the nearby village of Pescara del Tronto, RAI reported.

There were also reports of serious damage in the town of Amatrice.
"The roads in and out of town are cut off. Half the town is gone. There are people under the rubble... There's been a landslide and a bridge might collapse," mayor Sergio Perozzi told RAI radio.
Italy's Civil Protection agency described the earthquake as "severe".
"It was so strong. It seemed the bed was walking across the room by itself with us on it," Lina Mercantini of Ceselli, Umbria, told Reuters.
Rescue teams are being sent to the worst-hit areas, the prime minister's office said.

The quake was initially reported as being magnitude 6.4. It was followed by several powerful aftershocks, La Repubblica newspaper reported.
The deputy editor of the British newspaper, The Times, told the BBC that the quake lasted about 20 seconds followed by an aftershock about 20 minutes later which was easily as strong.

"It was pitch dark, very cold. Nobody in our group had a clue what to do in an earthquake," Emma Tucker said, who was in the area at the time.

The USGS predicted the damage could be significant, based on data from previous quakes.

It said the quake struck near the Umbrian city of Norcia, whose picturesque historic centre is a popular tourist site.
However Norcia Mayor Nicola Alemanno said no deaths have been reported there.

"The anti-seismic structures of the town have held," he said. "There is damage to the historic heritage and buildings, but we do not have any serious injuries."

In 2009, a 6.3-magnitude earthquake in the Aquila region, which was also felt in the Italian capital, left more than 300 dead.

Unclad Portraits & Statue Of Hillary Clinton Released By Donald Trump's Fans

Following the grotesque statues of a Unclad Donald Trump which popped up at a few locations around the United States this week by some suspected pro-Hilary, some Pro-Trump have also released unflattering Unclad portraits of Hillary Clinton which they titled 'The Ugly Sides Of Hillary Clinton".

The supporters of Donald Trump have earlier taken to social media to decry that that there is a double standard at play with the manner in which everyone seem to be laughing off the controversial Unclad Trump statues. They asked what if the statues were that of Hillary Clinton? Would all those people still be laughing?

Now, they've also released their own version of Unclad smear campaign against Hilary, and it's gradually making the rounds on a couple of top foreign sites including Reddit. One of the Unclad portraits has Hilary Clinton in all her 'glory' 'romancing' a bottle of alcohol. Let's see if this will shake the world.

Why The UK Should Remain In The EU by richard-branson

Over the last five decades, I’ve launched dozens of businesses and the Virgin Group now employs almost 50,000 people in the UK. Although I’ve been living in the British Virgin Islands for some time now, I have never stopped caring passionately about the UK and its great people. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned a thing or two about risk, and leaving the European Union is not one of the risks I would want the UK to take – not as an investor, not as an entrepreneur, and certainly not as a father and grandfather.

The EU has delivered enormous benefits to the UK, its economy, and its people. Up to 3 million British jobs are linked to the UK’s membership in the world’s largest single market. It’s a market of more than 500 million consumers, offering unparalleled opportunities for investment and trade while guaranteeing openness, transparency and security. EU trading partners buy 44% of all British exports; more than 300,000 British businesses operate in other EU countries; and the EU provides great support for thousands of start-ups each year. I have yet to hear a convincing reason why the UK should give that up.

There are other, more personal reasons why the UK should stay. For starters, one of the EU’s most important achievements is that it has kept its members out of conflict in Europe. I represent the first generation of my family not to go to war in Europe. My father Ted fought in North Africa, Italy and Germany during World War II. My grandfather survived the horrors of the trenches in World War I. For centuries, almost every generation was at war with one European country or another.

But from the bloodshed and devastation of World War II rose a new vision of a peaceful partnership between Europe’s nations built on economic cooperation and openness. Even Winston Churchill called for a “United States of Europe”, where millions will “be able to regain the simple joys and hopes which make life worth living”. Not a single shot has ever been fired between the armies of EU member states. In fact, in 2012, the European Union received the Nobel Peace Prize for advancing the causes of peace, reconciliation, democracy and human rights.

As a member of the EU, the UK is much better off economically. It can trade without barriers or taxes. British citizens can live, learn and work wherever they want in the European Union. And any global threats facing British citizens young and old, such as climate change, financial crisis or conflict, are better addressed collectively. The EU has made both Europe and the UK stronger. If you agree with me, I’d urge you to vote to remain.

Donald Trump: If I lose, ‘it’s OK ... I go back to a very good way of life’

Donald Trump says if he loses the presidential election to Hillary Clinton, he’d be fine with it because he’s got a lot of money and he’s the one telling the truth.

“I’m a truth teller,” the Republican nominee told CNBC on Thursday. “All I do is tell the truth. And if at the end of 90 days I fall short because I’m somewhat politically [incorrect] even though I’m supposed to be the smart one and even though I’m supposed to have a lot of good ideas, it’s OK. You know, I go back to a very good way of life.”

“It’s not what I’m looking to do,” Trump continued. “I think we’re going to have a victory, but we’ll see.”

Trump said this after being pressed on his comments the night before. At a raucous rally in Florida, he repeated and doubled down on his claim that President Obama was “founder of ISIS” and Hillary Clinton “co-founder” of the terror organization.

“ISIS is honoring President Obama,” Trump said Wednesday night. “He is the founder of ISIS … and I would say the co-founder is crooked Hillary Clinton.”

But Trump said Thursday that he wasn’t going to back off his brash claims, even if it could cause him to lose.

“Whatever happens, happens,” he said. “I’m giving it straight. I don’t know that it will work because I’m a nonpolitical person and I’m proud of that. But I’m giving it straight.”

It was not the first time the real estate mogul has considered losing. In April, Trump told a crowd in Maryland that if he didn’t win the Republican primary, “I don’t think you’re ever going to see me again, folks. I think I’ll go to Turnberry and play golf or something.”

But Trump’s latest reflection comes on the heels of several rough weeks for his campaign — marred by a string of controversies that have apparently resulted in Clinton’s rise in the polls. According to RealClearPolitics’ most recent average of national polling data, the former secretary of state has opened up an eight-point lead over Trump (48 percent to 40 percent) among likely voters. Following last month’s Republican National Convention, Trump held a one-point lead over Clinton in RCP’s poll average.

Earlier this month, Trump said he’s “afraid the election is going to be rigged” against him.

But asked about his flailing poll numbers Thursday, he shifted from fear to acceptance.

“At the end, it’s either going to work or I’m going to have a very, very nice long vacation,” he said.

In an interview with Time magazine published Thursday, Trump said he has been taking the advice of GOP leaders, including Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, to stay on message.

“I am now listening to people that are telling me to be easier, nicer, be softer,” he said. “And you know, that’s O.K., and I’m doing that. Personally, I don’t know if that’s what the country wants.”

But he’s clearly not backing off his claims about Obama and Clinton supposedly founding ISIS.

“He was the founder, absolutely,” Trump said on CNBC. “In fact, he and Hillary Clinton get the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award for creating the trouble in the United States.”

Jacques Hamel Killed In France By ISIS Terrorists Who Slit His Throat

A photo has emerged of Jacques Hamel, the 84-year-old Catholic priest who was murdered by Isis terrorists at the Church of the Gambetta in Normandy on Tuesday (26 July). Up to six hostages were taken by the attackers including Hamel, two nuns and several worshippers after the agitators stormed a morning mass session at 10am local time in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, south of Rouen.

A police source told the Reuters news agency Hamel, who was reportedly ordained in 1958, had his throat slit and there are reports others were injured during the incident, one of whom is believed to be in a serious condition. French police shot and killed the two suspects, who it is claimed shouted "Daesh" while launching the attack as Hamel was leading morning mass at the Roman Catholic church.

The Vatican condemned the "barbarous killing" and the Archbishop of Rouen Dominique Lebrun said he would pray "as we prayed at the tomb of Father Popiulusko in Warsaw". Popiulusko was a Polish Roman Catholic priest who was assassinated in 1984.

Hamel, who was born in 1930, was "a good priest...discrete. He was quiet, didn't like attention," said Father John Hogan, OCDS, a Secular Discalced Carmelite priest.

"He assumed his duties to the end. He was well-liked. It seems he was a simple, faithful priest, quietly serving God and his people," the priest tweeted.

A woman who works at a local beauty parlour, Eulalie Garcia, said she had known the priest since her childhood.

"My family has lived here for 35 years and we have always known him," she said, according to the BBC..

"He was someone who was treasured by the community. He was very discreet and didn't like to draw attention to himself."

President Hollande has visited the scene and described the violence as a "vile terrorist attack" perpetrated by attackers who claimed to be from Islamic State (Isis). Prime minister Manuel Valls expressed "horror at [the] barbaric attack on [the] church."

France receives ongoing threats by Islamist terrorist groups and is under heightened security following the Nice terrorist attack on 14 July when 84 people were killed by Tunisian man Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel during Bastille Day celebrations. Nine terrorists who also claimed allegiance to Isis were responsible for the attacks in Paris in November last year that killed 137 people, most of whom were at the Bataclan theatre.

CNN-ORC Poll: Donald Trump Leading Us Presidential Polls

(CNN)The bounce is back.

Donald Trump comes out of his convention ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, topp four-way matchup including Gary Johnson (9%) and Jill Stein (3%) and by three points in a two-way head-to-head, 48% to 45%. That latter finding represents a 6-point convention bounce for Trump, which are traditionally measured in two-way matchups.

There hasn't been a significant post-convention bounce in CNN's polling since 2000. That year Al Gore and George W. Bush both boosted their numbers by an identical 8 points post-convention before ultimately battling all the way to the Supreme Court.

The new findings mark Trump's best showing in a CNN/ORC Poll against Clinton since September 2015. Trump's new edge rests largely on increased support among independents, 43% of whom said that Trump's convention in Cleveland left them more likely to back him, while 41% were dissuaded. Pre-convention, independents split 34% Clinton to 31% Trump, with sizable numbers behind Johnson (22%) and Stein (10%). Now, 46% say they back Trump, 28% Clinton, 15% Johnson and 4% Stein.
Donald Trump's plan to win the week
The poll also reflects a sharpening of the education divide among whites that has been prevalent throughout the campaign. Among white voters with college degrees, Clinton actually gained ground compared with pre-convention results, going from an even 40% to 40% split to a 44% to 39% edge over Trump. That while Trump expanded his lead with white voters who do not hold a college degree from a 51% to 31% lead before the convention to a 62% to 23% lead now.

Beyond boosting his overall support, Trump's favorability rating is also on the rise (46% of registered voters say they have a positive view, up from 39% pre-convention), while his advantage over Clinton on handling top issues climbs. He now holds double-digit margins over Clinton as more trusted on the economy and terrorism. Trump also cut into Clinton's edge on managing foreign policy (50% said they trusted her more, down from 57% pre-convention).
The convention also helped Trump make strides in his personal image. A majority (52%) now say Trump is running for president for the good of the country rather than personal gain, just 44% say the same about Clinton. He's increased the share who call him honest and trustworthy (from 38% to 43%), and who would be proud to have him as president (from 32% to 39%). And nearly half now say he's in touch with the problems ordinary Americans face in their daily lives (46% say so, 37% did before the convention).
Despite Democratic criticism of the Republican convention's message as divisive, the percentage who say Trump will unite the country rather than divide it has increased to 42%, compared with 34% pre-convention.

Clinton's ratings on these same measures took a hit, though in most cases her drop-off was not quite as large as Trump's gain. Perhaps most troubling for the Clinton supporters gathering in Philadelphia this week: 68% now say Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, her worst rating on that measure in CNN/ORC polling.
Those positives for Trump come despite some sharply negative reviews for the convention itself. Almost 6 in 10 (58%) said the Republican convention spent too much time attacking Democrats, and 18% called Trump's speech "terrible," the highest by far since CNN started began the question in 1996. Still, 40% called the speech excellent or good and about half of voters (45%) said Trump's speech reflected the way they feel about things in the U.S. today; 48% said it did not reflect their views.

The public rendered a split decision on whether the convention made them more or less likely to back Trump, 42% said more likely while 44% said less so, but the shift in voter preferences suggests the "more likely" side carried more weight. And most came away feeling ready to decide about Trump's fitness for the job: 78% say they already know enough to know whether he'd be a good president. Another 20% think they need more information.
Two prominent convention speakers saw their stock rise post-convention as well. Favorability ratings for Trump's wife, Melania, climbed from 27% pre-convention to 43% post-convention, despite news that her Monday night speech contained passages lifted from Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic convention speech. Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence, whose Wednesday speaking slot was largely overshadowed following Ted Cruz's defiant stand on the convention stage, also bolstered the electorate's impression of him, landing at a 39% favorable rating overall, up from 26% pre-convention.

Cruz's move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.
The Trump campaign has claimed the visceral negative reaction to Cruz reflected the unity the party feels behind Trump himself. But the poll suggests a large share of Republican voters still need to be won over. The share of Republicans who say their party is "united now" climbed from 16% pre-convention to 24% post-convention, but about half (49%) say it's not united now, but will be by November, and there are still about a quarter who say the party won't unite at all. Further, 45% continue to say they'd prefer someone other than Trump as the nominee.
The CNN/ORC Poll was conducted by telephone July 22-24 among a random national sample of 1,001 adults. Results for the sample of 882 registered voters have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Barack Obama's half-brother Malik says he's voting for Donald Trump

Barack Obama’s half-brother said he was so disappointed with the Democratic party that he will vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Malik Obama said he supports Trump because of his frustrations with the Obama administration – from its role in ousting Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to the administration’s support of same-sex marriage.
“I feel like a Republican now because they don’t stand for same-sex marriage, and that appeals to me,” Obama told the New York Post in a call from the Kenyan village of Kogelo.
Obama plans to return to Maryland in November to cast his vote for Trump, where he is registered to vote and used to work as an accountant in the state, according to other media outlets.
Obama’s disappointments with the Democratic party also include presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state. “She should have known better as the custodian of classified information,” said Obama.

demostrated by the administration’s intervention in Libya, which preceded the ousting of Gaddafi, who died during a popular uprising. Malik Obama said Gaddafi was “one of his best friends”.
“I still feel that getting rid of Gaddafi didn’t make things any better in Libya,” he said.
But Obama was encouraged by Trump. “I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart,” he said.
Barack Obama did not meet Malik until 1985, according to the Post. They have the same father but different mothers.
Their father moved from Kenya to the US in 1959, but was largely absent in the president’s life. Trump’s father was born in New York and was once the richest man in the US.
Malik Obama tried to use his presidential connections during a run for governor of Kenya’s Siaya County in March 2013. Obama claimed he would have a “direct line to the White House”, but only managed 2,792 votes – about 140,000 votes behind the winner.
