Jacques Hamel Killed In France By ISIS Terrorists Who Slit His Throat

A photo has emerged of Jacques Hamel, the 84-year-old Catholic priest who was murdered by Isis terrorists at the Church of the Gambetta in Normandy on Tuesday (26 July). Up to six hostages were taken by the attackers including Hamel, two nuns and several worshippers after the agitators stormed a morning mass session at 10am local time in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, south of Rouen.

A police source told the Reuters news agency Hamel, who was reportedly ordained in 1958, had his throat slit and there are reports others were injured during the incident, one of whom is believed to be in a serious condition. French police shot and killed the two suspects, who it is claimed shouted "Daesh" while launching the attack as Hamel was leading morning mass at the Roman Catholic church.

The Vatican condemned the "barbarous killing" and the Archbishop of Rouen Dominique Lebrun said he would pray "as we prayed at the tomb of Father Popiulusko in Warsaw". Popiulusko was a Polish Roman Catholic priest who was assassinated in 1984.

Hamel, who was born in 1930, was "a good priest...discrete. He was quiet, didn't like attention," said Father John Hogan, OCDS, a Secular Discalced Carmelite priest.

"He assumed his duties to the end. He was well-liked. It seems he was a simple, faithful priest, quietly serving God and his people," the priest tweeted.

A woman who works at a local beauty parlour, Eulalie Garcia, said she had known the priest since her childhood.

"My family has lived here for 35 years and we have always known him," she said, according to the BBC..

"He was someone who was treasured by the community. He was very discreet and didn't like to draw attention to himself."

President Hollande has visited the scene and described the violence as a "vile terrorist attack" perpetrated by attackers who claimed to be from Islamic State (Isis). Prime minister Manuel Valls expressed "horror at [the] barbaric attack on [the] church."

France receives ongoing threats by Islamist terrorist groups and is under heightened security following the Nice terrorist attack on 14 July when 84 people were killed by Tunisian man Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel during Bastille Day celebrations. Nine terrorists who also claimed allegiance to Isis were responsible for the attacks in Paris in November last year that killed 137 people, most of whom were at the Bataclan theatre.

CNN-ORC Poll: Donald Trump Leading Us Presidential Polls

(CNN)The bounce is back.

Donald Trump comes out of his convention ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, topp four-way matchup including Gary Johnson (9%) and Jill Stein (3%) and by three points in a two-way head-to-head, 48% to 45%. That latter finding represents a 6-point convention bounce for Trump, which are traditionally measured in two-way matchups.

There hasn't been a significant post-convention bounce in CNN's polling since 2000. That year Al Gore and George W. Bush both boosted their numbers by an identical 8 points post-convention before ultimately battling all the way to the Supreme Court.

The new findings mark Trump's best showing in a CNN/ORC Poll against Clinton since September 2015. Trump's new edge rests largely on increased support among independents, 43% of whom said that Trump's convention in Cleveland left them more likely to back him, while 41% were dissuaded. Pre-convention, independents split 34% Clinton to 31% Trump, with sizable numbers behind Johnson (22%) and Stein (10%). Now, 46% say they back Trump, 28% Clinton, 15% Johnson and 4% Stein.
Donald Trump's plan to win the week
The poll also reflects a sharpening of the education divide among whites that has been prevalent throughout the campaign. Among white voters with college degrees, Clinton actually gained ground compared with pre-convention results, going from an even 40% to 40% split to a 44% to 39% edge over Trump. That while Trump expanded his lead with white voters who do not hold a college degree from a 51% to 31% lead before the convention to a 62% to 23% lead now.

Beyond boosting his overall support, Trump's favorability rating is also on the rise (46% of registered voters say they have a positive view, up from 39% pre-convention), while his advantage over Clinton on handling top issues climbs. He now holds double-digit margins over Clinton as more trusted on the economy and terrorism. Trump also cut into Clinton's edge on managing foreign policy (50% said they trusted her more, down from 57% pre-convention).
The convention also helped Trump make strides in his personal image. A majority (52%) now say Trump is running for president for the good of the country rather than personal gain, just 44% say the same about Clinton. He's increased the share who call him honest and trustworthy (from 38% to 43%), and who would be proud to have him as president (from 32% to 39%). And nearly half now say he's in touch with the problems ordinary Americans face in their daily lives (46% say so, 37% did before the convention).
Despite Democratic criticism of the Republican convention's message as divisive, the percentage who say Trump will unite the country rather than divide it has increased to 42%, compared with 34% pre-convention.

Clinton's ratings on these same measures took a hit, though in most cases her drop-off was not quite as large as Trump's gain. Perhaps most troubling for the Clinton supporters gathering in Philadelphia this week: 68% now say Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, her worst rating on that measure in CNN/ORC polling.
Those positives for Trump come despite some sharply negative reviews for the convention itself. Almost 6 in 10 (58%) said the Republican convention spent too much time attacking Democrats, and 18% called Trump's speech "terrible," the highest by far since CNN started began the question in 1996. Still, 40% called the speech excellent or good and about half of voters (45%) said Trump's speech reflected the way they feel about things in the U.S. today; 48% said it did not reflect their views.

The public rendered a split decision on whether the convention made them more or less likely to back Trump, 42% said more likely while 44% said less so, but the shift in voter preferences suggests the "more likely" side carried more weight. And most came away feeling ready to decide about Trump's fitness for the job: 78% say they already know enough to know whether he'd be a good president. Another 20% think they need more information.
Two prominent convention speakers saw their stock rise post-convention as well. Favorability ratings for Trump's wife, Melania, climbed from 27% pre-convention to 43% post-convention, despite news that her Monday night speech contained passages lifted from Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic convention speech. Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence, whose Wednesday speaking slot was largely overshadowed following Ted Cruz's defiant stand on the convention stage, also bolstered the electorate's impression of him, landing at a 39% favorable rating overall, up from 26% pre-convention.

Cruz's move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.
The Trump campaign has claimed the visceral negative reaction to Cruz reflected the unity the party feels behind Trump himself. But the poll suggests a large share of Republican voters still need to be won over. The share of Republicans who say their party is "united now" climbed from 16% pre-convention to 24% post-convention, but about half (49%) say it's not united now, but will be by November, and there are still about a quarter who say the party won't unite at all. Further, 45% continue to say they'd prefer someone other than Trump as the nominee.
The CNN/ORC Poll was conducted by telephone July 22-24 among a random national sample of 1,001 adults. Results for the sample of 882 registered voters have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Barack Obama's half-brother Malik says he's voting for Donald Trump

Barack Obama’s half-brother said he was so disappointed with the Democratic party that he will vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Malik Obama said he supports Trump because of his frustrations with the Obama administration – from its role in ousting Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to the administration’s support of same-sex marriage.
“I feel like a Republican now because they don’t stand for same-sex marriage, and that appeals to me,” Obama told the New York Post in a call from the Kenyan village of Kogelo.
Obama plans to return to Maryland in November to cast his vote for Trump, where he is registered to vote and used to work as an accountant in the state, according to other media outlets.
Obama’s disappointments with the Democratic party also include presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state. “She should have known better as the custodian of classified information,” said Obama.

demostrated by the administration’s intervention in Libya, which preceded the ousting of Gaddafi, who died during a popular uprising. Malik Obama said Gaddafi was “one of his best friends”.
“I still feel that getting rid of Gaddafi didn’t make things any better in Libya,” he said.
But Obama was encouraged by Trump. “I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart,” he said.
Barack Obama did not meet Malik until 1985, according to the Post. They have the same father but different mothers.
Their father moved from Kenya to the US in 1959, but was largely absent in the president’s life. Trump’s father was born in New York and was once the richest man in the US.
Malik Obama tried to use his presidential connections during a run for governor of Kenya’s Siaya County in March 2013. Obama claimed he would have a “direct line to the White House”, but only managed 2,792 votes – about 140,000 votes behind the winner.

Michael Bloomberg to Endorse Hillary Clinton in DNC Speech

Michael Bloomberg will endorse Hillary Clinton in a prime time address at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday, two Bloomberg advisers tell ABC News.

Longtime Bloomberg adviser Stu Loeser tells ABC News the former New York City mayor will speak Wednesday in Philadelphia and endorse the former secretary of state.

Another senior adviser to Bloomberg Howard Wolfson said in a statement: "As the nation's leading independent and a pragmatic business leader Mike (Bloomberg) has supported candidates from both sides of the aisle. This week in Philadelphia he will make a strong case that the clear choice in this election is Hillary Clinton."

Loeser said the endorsement is a sign of Bloomberg's dismay with Republican nominee and fellow billionaire Donald Trump. While Bloomberg and Clinton are not particularly close, Bloomberg has made no secret he would like to see Trump lose the election.

The endorsement comes as a surprise. Bloomberg is a former Democrat, but was elected mayor of New York City as a Republican in 2001 and later became a Republican. Bloomberg was considering his own run for the presidency this cycle and has been critical of Trump during this campaign, but decided in March that mounting an independent run could help Trump's path to the White House. He has been especially critical of Trump's immigration and Muslim ban policies.

Wednesday is the same night President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are expected to speak. Bloomberg served as New York City’s mayor for 12 years and endorsed Obama’s re-election in 2012.

German Machete Attack: Syrian Refugee Kills Woman & Injures Two Others

Syrian refugee, 21, hacks PREGNANT woman to death with machete and injures two others before hero BMW driver runs him over in yet another attack in Germany

Syrian refugee, aged 21, went on a machete rampage in the city Reutlingen, Germany near to a doner kebab stand
He killed one woman and injured a man and another woman in the attack before being detained by the police
The motive for the attack is unclear but it has been reported he had a dispute with the woman before he killed her

A Syrian refugee wielding a machete has killed a pregnant woman and injured a man and another woman in Germany before being arrested by police after he was run over by a man driving a BMW.

The attack happened in the south western city of Reutlingen near a doner kebab stand in a bus station at Listplatz Square in what has been described as a 'crime of passion'.

German media have been reporting that the motive for the attack in the city south of Stuttgart was unclear but the attacker and the 45-year-old Polish victim both worked at the same snack bar.

Armed police officers can be seen pinning him down to the ground before binding his hands behind his back.

Meanwhile, footage filmed by passers-by also showed the bearded attacker in the moments following the rampage running around in the street while people scream 'oh my god'.

He also banged on the windows of a Citroen car in which a 51-year-old woman suffered cuts to her arms and a 41-year-old man went into shock.

The attacker also injured a 23-year-old man by slashing his face.

It is believed a man passing the incident in a BMW car ran over the man, knocking him to the ground, before he was detained by police.

Brexit A Risk To Global Growth – World Leaders

Brexit A Risk To Global Growth – World Leaders

Brexit-Britain-European-Union-

Britain’s vote to leave the European Union heightens risks for the world economy, finance chiefs from the G20 group of leading countries said on Sunday, vowing to use “all policy tools” to boost growth.
The outcome of June’s referendum “adds to the uncertainty in the global economy”, they said in a communique after a meeting of central bankers and ministers in the Chinese city of Chengdu.

But they insisted that G20 countries were “well positioned to proactively address the potential economic and financial consequences” of the vote, adding: “In the future, we hope to see the UK as a close partner of the EU.”
“In light of recent developments, we reiterate our determination to use all policy tools – monetary, fiscal and structural – individually and collectively to achieve our goal of strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth,” said the communique, repeating a pledge from an earlier meeting in Shanghai in February.
But it called for “inclusive growth” to bring in those left out of economic prosperity.
Fiscally rigorous Germany in particular is reluctant to endorse the use of government spending to boost growth, seeing it as ineffective.
“It would be a mistake to think about the choice of tools as being either/or when it comes to structural reforms or using fiscal space,” said US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew. “The two go hand-in-glove.”

US Presidential Aspirant Hillary Clinton picks Tim Kaine as Vice President -

Hillary Clinton on Friday tapped Tim Kaine, a popular Spanish-speaking senator from the swing state of Virginia, to be her running mate in the White House showdown against Donald Trump.

“I’m thrilled to announce my running mate, @timkaine, a man who’s devoted his life to fighting for others. -H,” the presumptive Democratic nominee tweeted. The 58-year-old senator swiftly tweeted his response, saying: “Just got off the phone with Hillary. I’m honored to be her running mate.
Can’t wait to hit the trail tomorrow in Miami!” Kaine, an experienced foreign policy hand who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees, could help Clinton bring in two key voting blocs: Hispanics and the battleground state of Virginia. Politically a middle-of-the-road Democrat, he is also seen as helping the former secretary of state win over votes from reluctant independent male voters. Widely seen as a safe choice for Clinton in a brutal election race, Kaine emerged as a frontrunner in the veepstakes because he ticks so many boxes.
Clinton put out a series of tweets heaping praise on the senator, known for his affable manner as well as his expertise on matters of defense and foreign policy. “@timkaine is a relentless optimist who believes no problem is unsolvable if you put in the work to solve it,” Clinton wrote. “@timkaine’s guiding principle: the belief that you can make a difference through public service.” One of the tweets included a five-point graphic highlighting the senator’s youthful spell on a Jesuit mission in Honduras as well as his track record in fighting homelessness, discrimination and gun violence, in expanding early childhood education and in fostering a positive business environment in Virginia. The pick comes just days before the start of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, where Clinton — and now Kaine — next week are to be elevated as the nominees to the party’s presidential ticket. -

We’ve No Information To Provide On Aisha Buhari Being Wanted In US –US

The United States government says it has no information on the alleged crimes committed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha.

The acting Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate General, Lagos, Frank Sellin, said this in an email sent to our correspondent on Tuesday.

Sellin said this in response to an enquiry made by our correspondent regarding allegations that the President’s wife was wanted in the US and was avoiding travelling to the country.

In a message, Sellin said, “Thank you for the inquiry. We have no information to provide on this matter.”

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, had, last month, alleged that Mrs. Buhari was involved in the $185m Halliburton scandal.

While reacting to the freezing of his Zenith Bank accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Fayose claimed that the wife of the President was a wanted person in the US.

He had said, “Even the President cannot claim to be an angel. The estate he built in Abuja is known to us. His wife was indicted in the Halliburton scandal. When that American, Jefferson, was being sentenced, the President’s wife was mentioned as having wired $170,000 to Jefferson. Her name was on page 25 of the sentencing of Jefferson. We can serialise the judgment for people to see and read.”

Fayose repeated the claim in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi. He said Aisha refused to travel with the President to
